Vinita Nair
The journalist joined ABC News in July of 2004, and has since covered many subjects, including Jon Benet Ramsey's investigation, Jon Benet Ramsey investigation, and school shootings near Bailey, Colorado. Nair became a part of ABC News as an anchor/correspondent for ABC News Now in December 2007. She was responsible for anchoring live news coverage, in addition to briefings about ABC's digital networks. Nair was a co-anchor for World News Now and America This Morning on ABC starting on September 17, 2008, up to February 18, 2011. On both of these programs, Nair was partnered initially alongside Jeremy Hubbard. Later she collaborated with Rob Nelson. Nair disclosed on Thursday 17 February 2011, her last night working on broadcasting for World News Now would be on Friday, February 18th. The same day would also mark her last day working for ABC News. Peggy Bunker from KDVR Denver became her replacement immediately. The edition on February 18, World News Now paid tribute to Nair during each of its three segments. It also featured appearances by current and former coworkers, such as Jeremy Hubbard. When she was done she treated all the team to breakfast.
